Overview
Consultant Social Worker - Family Help Team - Countywide, Warwickshire County Council. Permanent, full-time roles in Rugby, Warwick, Stratford, Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire, specialising in child protection and court work.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise (where applicable) with less experienced social workers and family practitioners to direct and oversee casework, ensuring all court preparation is clear, relevant, specific and timely.
* Hold allocated families to work with, and liaise with legal services to build confidence in practitioners to ensure the best outcomes for children, young people and families.
* Engage in multi-agency collaboration within the Family Help Teams to meet holistic needs and reduce risk.
* Manage court-related activities and participate in emergency or out-of-hours work when required.
Key Requirements
* Professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
* Previous experience of court preparation and child protection.
* Driving is a requirement of the role.
* Occasional work outside core hours to deal with emergent issues (e.g., emergency court applications).
About the Team
Family Help Teams operate on a district basis to support families in need of assessment, targeted early support, Children in Need, those on the Edge of Care or Child Protection, and children in care until permanency is achieved. The teams are multi-agency, including Family Support Workers, Family Practitioners, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, Police Officers, and NHS staff, collaborating to meet the holistic needs of families and keep families together where possible. Warwickshire is embedding Families First teams with locality, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency collaboration with Health, Police and Education partners.
