Why we are looking
We need a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer in Dumbarton to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff and visitors. This role involves applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned and ad‑hoc patrols, and performing duties as outlined in the Assignment Instructions. In emergency situations, you will follow prescribed escalation and communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.
Work schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑16:00.
Responsibilities
* Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular patrols and recording them as required.
* Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed and sign in/out of the site.
* Record the entry and exit of deliveries, including processing paperwork in line with quality procedures.
* Carry out patrols to the correct standards.
* Set and unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out‑of‑hours security provision where applicable.
* Comply with site waste‑management procedures.
* Complete required documents: daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and site‑specific reports.
* Familiarise yourself with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and other quality & safety documents; advise the Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations.
* Maintain training records via the Corps Portal and keep first‑aid and fire‑marshal training current.
* Apply SIA skills consistently, displaying your licence at all times.
* Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
* Valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential.
* Valid SIA CCTV Licence – desirable.
* Confidence and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
* Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel).
* Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.
