Monarch Education is excited to be recruiting a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and thriving Primary School. This role is a temp to perm opportunity, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, with a strong commitment to creating engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities Of An Early Years Practitioner
* Teaching and Learning:
o Supporting teachers in planning and delivering activities.
o Assisting pupils with diverse learning needs (such as autism).
o Providing feedback and assistance to teachers.
o Creating an engaging and stimulating environment.
o Addressing physical, social, and emotional needs of children, which may include personal care.
o Collaborating to cater to individual or group learning needs.
o Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and supported to achieve their potential.
o Use a range of teaching strategies, including practical activities, to promote active learning.
o Foster confidence, independence, and social skills in pupils.
* Assessment and Progress:
o Monitor and support children's emotional and social development
* Classroom Management:
o Establish clear and consistent rules for classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
o Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a productive, respectful, and safe classroom atmosphere.
o Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
* Collaboration and Teamwork:
o Participate in school meetings, training, and collaborative planning sessions.
o Maintain open lines of communication with parents and carers to keep them informed about student progress and school events.
* Personal Development:
o Continue to develop professionally by attending training sessions and workshops relevant to your practice.
o Stay up to date with the latest educational trends, strategies, and practices to ensure that teaching methods remain innovative and effective.
Personal Specification
* Qualifications:
o A recognised Teaching Assistant Qualification is essential.
* Experience:
o Experience working as a teaching assistant in a school.
o Knowledge and understanding of the Primary curriculum.
o Experience working with children with a range of learning needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
* Skills and Attributes:
o Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive, inclusive environment.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
o Creativity and resourcefulness in assisting with learning activities and supporting children development
* Personal Qualities:
o A patient and nurturing attitude to support children's emotional and social growth with sensitivity and understanding.
o A proactive and self-motivated individual who takes initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team.
o Enthusiastic, positive, and dedicated to ensuring that every child has the best educational experience possible.
