Overview

Operations Manager - People Function - 12m FTC / 12m Secondment

PwC UK, Manchester, England, United Kingdom

We are a team of four professionals working closely with People Function leadership and wider Business Solutions teams to deliver effective and efficient people operations and projects for the Function. Our expertise includes stakeholder engagement, budget management, data analysis and visualisation, cross-team collaboration, and project management. Current priorities include budget and headcount management, cash spend governance, process optimisation, LoS recharging strategy, agility strategy, and career coach allocations.


Responsibilities

* Support People Function teams in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, headcount, and financial targets.
* Engage with, coach and brief teams including leadership, on finance matters. Create high-performing, mutually productive relationships with key stakeholders.
* Review, embed, and manage regular (weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual) reporting and performance measurement processes.
* Analyse strategic, operational, and evaluation data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Provide operational guidance and challenge to stakeholders, acting as a “go-to” expert for operational queries.
* Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and consolidate activities to ensure a consistent continuous improvement approach, including AI enhancements. Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of operational processes to support the People Function.

Requirements / Qualifications

* You have a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships and work collaboratively to drive value. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* You have a highly analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and complex operational data.
* You are proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and legacy Google tools, with a curiosity to drive AI adoption.
* You have experience in managing budgets, headcount, and financial monitoring processes.
* You have strong project management skills with experience in prioritising work and managing deadlines.
* You are commercially focused, with the ability to keep financial implications in mind when making decisions.
* You are self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
