About The Role Role: Licensing Support Officer Contract: Fixed Term 1 year Salary: £25,183 to £27,269 pa Hours: 37 Location: Plough Lane - at discretion of manager home working may be considered Closing Date: 4 August 2025 Interview Date: 13 August 2025 The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Licensing Support Officer to work within our busy licensing section. You will need to provide a high standard of support to the licensing function and to the wider environment health and trading standards division. You will administer, prepare and issue a wide range of licences within strict timescales while adhering to legislative and policy requirements, so accuracy and attention to detail skills will be essential for this role. You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to confidently engage and advise members of the public, police, legal bodies, trade members, and other council departments on all areas of licensing within the perimeters of your role. You will be expected to spend much of your time working on you own, so the ability to manage your time and priorities will be essential. You will be competent in the use of Information Technology systems and hold an ECDL or equivalent qualification, previous experience of working with databases will be essential for this role, as most of your work activities will be actioned via our civica database system. You must have 5 GCSE’s grades A – C or equivalent including Maths and English and have good numerical and analytical skills. We are looking for someone who has exceptional organisational skills, is dependable and able to work with confidential and sensitive information. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
