What will the role look like?
* Based in our St Neots (Cambridgeshire) depot.
* The role involves being part of a proficient team who provides technical appraisals for crane schemes which deliver safe and efficient lifting solutions.
* Working closely with external customers to appraise their requirements and develop a cost-effective crane solution. Solutions must be achievable and work with the projects requirements.
* Collaborative work with different Lifting Solution departments to develop cost effective and productive proposals as well as providing guidance and technical solutions to the different departments on crane issues.
* Work with the Clients Temporary Works department to provide technical information to enable innovative and workable engineering solutions.
* Work closely with the tower crane manufacturer to gain approval for technical issues outside the general scope of operations set out in the technical manuals.
* Liaise with the tower crane manufacturer on technical issues as they arise.
* To understand the requirements of both current legislation and HSE guidance.
* Promote full adherence to Health and Safety requirements to ensure risks to employees and other contractors are removed and appropriate actions to redress any issues implemented.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
* A prior understanding of using Autodesk AutoCAD software is preferable as the role requires working efficiently to produce advanced 2D CAD drawings for the client.
* Logical, well organised with the ability to prioritise
* Numerate, Literate and accurate.
Training will be provided to help you to:
* Perform calculations of tower crane tie forces using structural analysis software such as STRAP as linked with CAD drawing details
* Recalculate Terex foundation loads to reissue to the client if base ballast requirements change.
* Work on ground-breaking projects with key stakeholders to develop complex craneage strategies for some of the most prestigious projects in the country.
This role is open for both newly qualified and experienced engineers.
