Waste Barge Deckhand

Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off (0700–1900)

We are now looking for a Waste Barge Deckhand to join our team in Tees Port
The Role
As Waste Barge Deckhand, you will play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, supporting all deck activities in compliance with company procedures, MCA requirements, the Workboat Code and other regulatory standards.
Working on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (0700–1900), you will help us deliver a 365-day service, including weekends and public holidays. Occasional overtime may be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with mooring and unmooring operations
* Supporting planned maintenance activities onboard
* Assisting with the loading and unloading of ship-generated waste on the River Tees and in Hartlepool
* Conducting vessel husbandry and Health, Safety and Environmental checks, reporting or rectifying faults as required
* Operating under the direction of the Coxswain
* Supporting both deck and engine room duties as required to meet operational needs
* Completing mandatory training to maintain compliance and support your professional development

About You
You will be a motivated and safety-conscious individual with relevant maritime experience and a flexible, team-oriented approach.
Essential Requirements
* Valid ML5 or ENG1 Medical Certificate and full STCW Basic Safety certification (A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/1-3, A-VI/1-4 and A-VI/6-1) with a minimum of six months on all certifications.
* Right to Work in the UK
* Living within commutable distance of Tees Port
* Must be willing to undertake additional training where required to support operational needs
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable
* Forklift licence
* HIAB (NPORS or equivalent) operator certification
* Experience on workboats or in a similar maritime environment
