SC Clearance required Your new company Our client, a leading Government department, are now looking to expand their existing in-house Software Development team by recruiting experienced Java Developers. Your new role In this key role you will provide hands-on development skills but also support the lead developer with the upskilling and mentoring of junior developers. £550 per day6 months initial contract What you'll need to succeed Strong Java 11 ability Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, REST API's, observability and monitoring, queue technologies and Spring security. Detailed knowledge of best practices such as SOLID principles Experience of building new and evolving microservices with emphasis on high availability and data integrity Highly experienced in test methodologies including unit testing with JUnit, use of TDD, integration tests and end-to-end testing, as a way to promote high quality codebases. Postgres (or other similar relational database) experience including interacting with databases from ORM technologies such as Hibernate. Experience of reviewing code and providing constructive feedback. Ability to interpret static code analysis reports. Experience of agile development practices, specifically including Scrum; and the ways of working including associated tooling (e.g. Jira and Confluence). Knowledge and experience of working with Git and CI/CD Experience of building new and evolving microservices with emphasis on high availability and data integrity, including the use of centralised logging (e.g. Grafana and Loki) Experience of, or interest in, frontend development in React and TypeScript Experience of, or interest in, mentoring and supporting junior members of the team to allow the team to grow. An interest in DevOps principles and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes clusters including helm charts, GitOps practices including Flux and service mesh technologies such as Istio What you need to do now My client is looking to interview immediately.
