Band 3 Orthopaedic and General Surgery Occupational Therapy Assistant (Part‑time) at Conquest Hospital.
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertake specific skilled support work to aid in the rehabilitation and safe discharge of patients.
* Assess, prescribe, and provide appropriate equipment to increase patient independence and safety.
* Manage own caseload as delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
* Monitor patient progression and make minor alterations to patient treatment programme as required.
* Assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with complex cases that require two people to treat.
* Work unsupervised and at times lone working; report patient progress and inform the Occupational Therapist of any problems.
* Assist in the induction of new assistant staff, students and rotational Junior Occupational Therapists.
Qualifications
* Highly motivated, caring and proactive professional.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexible in approach and able to adapt to changing caseloads.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development through clinical supervision and training.
* Part‑time Band 3 level of education and experience.
