The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home. You will take responsibility in their absence, lead and supervise the care team, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a child-centred, therapeutic approach.
Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding practice, and positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the care team, providing coaching, support, and performance management.
* Ensure care plans are implemented, monitored, and regularly reviewed.
* Promote education, health, emotional wellbeing, and independence for children.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, Ofsted regulations, and internal policies.
* Take part in rota planning, audits, inspections, and on-call responsibilities.
* Contribute to a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming home environment.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* At least 2 years' experience in children's residential care.
* Experience of supervising or leading staff.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and regulation compliance.
* Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to lead by example.
* A valid driving licence.
