Overview
Our inpatient CAMHS is expanding to include a brand-new purpose‑built 8‑bed High Intensity Environment/PICU opening in 2026 in Bournemouth.
Key Responsibilities
* Assessment and treatment planning for patients with complex presentations.
* Direct face‑to‑face time with patients, meeting families and community staff.
* Review records, write clinical reports and carry out tribunal work.
* Participate in daily meetings with ward staff and CPA, and discharge planning meetings.
* Work alongside another Consultant Psychiatrist, continuing in the General Adolescent Unit or moving to the new PICU when opened.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in CAMHS.
* Approved Clinician and maintenance of Section 12(2) registration.
* Experience working with children and young people, including those with intellectual disabilities and forensic CAMHS caseloads.
* Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
