We are recruiting for a Assistant Project Accountant.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB'S FUNCTION
* You will be accountable for the preparation of our month end revenue figures and the monthly forecasting of order backlog.
* The role will be responsible for the monthly review of ongoing high value client projects, and ad-hoc review of closed projects of a lower value. The monthly review will incorporate analysis of costs incurred compared with budget, forecasting of expense yet to be incurred and the analysis of variances.
* You will assist in the timeous and accurate preparation of monthly/quarterly reports on the performance of ongoing high value projects.
* You will have to manage several stakeholders' expectations and we expect you to deliver all information in a timely, reliable, and accurate manner.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBHOLDER
Revenue and Project Accounting
* Creation of Project Margin Review spreadsheets and analysis.
* Calculation of Materials required for a Project.
* Accurate allocation of costs to Project Budgets.
* Accountable for the preparation of our month-end revenue numbers within our management accounts.
* Work with planning to forecast our order backlog.
* Prepare month on month revenue variance analysis to forecast and budget.
* Calculation of Budget v Actual Variances (split by usage, price, FX).
* Commentary on Variances to be used at Board level.
* Forecast of Costs to be incurred on Projects which are ongoing and provide final margin estimate.
* Consulting with Project Engineers/Managers to ensure accurate reporting and actively encourage knowledge sharing.
* Monthly and Quarterly Reporting of project margin results to Stakeholders.
Assist commercial decision making within the business by providing financial information for the Board & other stakeholders.
* Assist with preparation of monthly Department KPIs.
* Responsible for consulting with bulk supply chain team to ensure accurate supplier rebate calculations.
* Assist and prepare analysis where required on bulk material prices.
* Assist in pulling together cost scenario analysis for sales bids.
* Assigned in-house stock production accounting postings and analysis.
General Responsibilities
* Continuously seeking process improvements
* Undertake ad-hoc finance tasks during the month end or year-end process.
* Ad hoc duties as required by the Finance Department.
* Provide holiday cover for Finance Business Partner and other members of Finance team as required.

Qualifications
Required:
* Minimum of HNC in Accounts/Finance or similar
Experience
Required:
* Minimum of 2 years within a billing and/or costing role,
* Sound Understanding of Microsoft excel.
Skills/Training

* Great with excel.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong people skills
* Confident consulting with stakeholders on all levels.
