Lead Software Engineer - Location: Sheffield (Hybrid Working)
Role Purpose
Take a hands-on leadership role within a small, high-performing engineering team. You'll drive technical delivery, actively write code, and champion continuous improvement across a range of projects. Collaborate with central engineering communities to embed best practices and enhance service management for global users. Experience in the banking or real estate sector is not required-what matters is your technical expertise and ability to deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead & Mentor: Guide and develop engineers, fostering accountability, teamwork, and technical excellence.
2. Hands-On Delivery: Provide technical direction and actively contribute code to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
3. Continuous Improvement: Promote modern engineering standards, agile practices, and process enhancements.
4. Service Management: Strengthen operational reliability and user satisfaction through improved incident, change, and problem management.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, architects, and global teams to deliver on technology roadmaps.
Experience & Skills

6. Proven Experience leading technical teams in complex environments.
7. Strong coding skills and hands-on involvement in software delivery.
8. Solid understanding of cloud, DevOps, Cl/CD, and engineering quality frameworks.
9. Effective communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical teams.
