The School of Sociology and Social Policy is a vibrant centre for social science teaching and research. We are a multidisciplinary School covering criminology, sociology, public policy, social policy, and social work. We are looking for an enthusiastic scholar to join our growing criminology team.
The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to research and teaching in the School. This includes taking responsibility for the quality of the education we provide, identifying new opportunities and sources of funding for research, as well as contributing to high-quality submissions to future assessments of research excellence. They will also play an active role in School operations, for example by taking on a significant academic administrative role in relation to research and/or teaching. Teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be an immediate priority.
We are happy to accept applicants with an interest in any area of criminology, broadly defined. Applicants should have a commitment to research, and a strong background in delivering educational programmes at postgraduate and undergraduate level, along with experience of academic administration.
