Sheffield City Council has been successful in securing funding to deliver employment support projects, part funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). These employment support projects will include contracts to support targeted groups, individuals with specialist health requirements and economically inactive/socially excluded individuals.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Project Officer- Business Development to join the Opportunity Sheffield team (SCC’s Employment and Skills service) and carry out a Business Development function for the service. This role will report directly to the Strategic support Co-ordinator and will involve generating opportunities to support employed individuals to develop their skills via funded training opportunities through Business Development and building on existing employer and stakeholder relationships with Opportunity Sheffield Employment and Skills Service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, and forward-thinking members of staff who can support and manage the delivery of a part UKSPF-funded programme of employment, economic inclusion, and skills.
The individual will be expected to have knowledge and understanding of externally funded programmes, business relationship management and ability to demonstrate a track record of generating employer/business relationships to include:
1. Keep updated on local labour market news.
2. Identify/generate new opportunities on a weekly basis.
3. Maintain employer relationships and provide support where required.
4. Attend regular network events for employers and external partners.
5. Have a solid understanding of the programme and to be able to effectively support staff delivering targets.
6. Supporting the continuous improvement of projects, providing updates to senior colleagues.
7. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to build relationships.
8. Effectively & efficiently planning and organising own workload.
9. Monitoring service delivery, ensuring resources are used to maximum efficiency.
10. Alongside the Strategic support Co-ordinator, seek innovative ways to support or respond to employer and participant needs, whether personal or workforce development or recruitment needs.
11. Identifying and highlighting potential risks and opportunities to the relevant senior managers within the Opportunity Sheffield service, initiating solutions and providing advice and support.
12. Taking responsibility for the development of systems and processes across the Employment Programmes and keeping the Employment and Skills service informed of progress through reports and presentations.
