LYVA Labs has recently been awarded a five-year Investment Zone project, IGAP (Innovation, Growth, Accelerate, and Partner), and is now seeking a Health & Life Sciences Commercialisation Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting role supporting health and life sciences businesses developing new technologies (TRL 2-5) and those close to commercialisation (TRL 6-9).
Key duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work directly with a small cohort of innovators, helping their companies bring new technologies to market by providing strategic advice on market access, funding, regulatory pathways, and business case development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Participant diagnostic and onboarding to IGAP
* Account and relationship management of key client accounts
* Business Development Support:
o Work with R&D intensive businesses to support their business development strategies, including customer acquisition, regulatory pathways, and revenue generation plans
* Investor and Funding Readiness:
o Assist clients in preparing for funding rounds, including pitch preparation and investor targeting
o Scout and connect with potential investors and relevant grant opportunities alongside the LL Investment Team
* Partnership Development:
o Facilitate introductions and collaborations between clients and commercial partners
o Connect clients with industry experts, mentors, and advisors who can offer specialised insights and consultancy
* Networking and Community Engagement:
o Participate in networking events, workshops, and conferences to promote our programmes and create connections within the local ecosystem
o Manage an active social media presence (LinkedIn)
* Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
o Track the progress and success of the programme, providing regular reports to the COO, Programme & Reporting Manager, and other stakeholders
* Administration:
o Handle administrative activities related to your duties, including updating HubSpot CRM systems and dashboards
Skills, personality, and experience
* Strong commercial acumen with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in R&D commercialisation and product development in the health and life sciences sector, including regulatory pathways
* Demonstrable experience of raising investment and/or grant funding for SMEs in the health and life sciences sector
* Bachelor's degree in a health or life sciences subject
* Qualification or experience in business and enterprise
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by early-stage companies
* Experience working in or with high-growth businesses
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels with diverse teams
* Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* Master's degree or PhD in a health and life sciences subject or MBA
* Knowledge of the LCR innovation ecosystem
Package
Terms: Full-time preferred, but part-time candidates will be considered (please indicate in your application). Fixed-term contract to March 2030.
Location: Hybrid – Liverpool City Region (50% based in our Liverpool city centre office)
