What is the job role of a Port Operative?
Stafforce port operatives support the UK's supply chain from discharge to distribution. No two days are the same in shipping, and a port operative may cover many roles, including:
1. Plant driving, including Forklift Trucks, Payloaders, Shovels, Tugs, and Mobile Harbour Cranes
2. Weighbridge or Gatehouse duties
3. Stock counts
4. Traffic Marshall and Vehicle Banksman
5. Full UK driving licence
6. Valid or expired Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
7. HGV licence
8. Valid or expired Payloader/Shovel licence
9. Experience in roles such as port operative, stevedore, CSCS labourer, plant driver, forklift driver, shovel driver, vehicle banksman, slinger banksman, crane driver, quarry operative, warehouse operative, or weighbridge is highly desirable
10. Previous experience working with commodities such as steel, 1t bags, or timber
11. Experience operating radios
