Overview
We are currently looking for Field Service Engineers to join the team within our Wallasey Service Centre, covering contracts in Wirral, Wigan, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Liverpool, South Sefton, Southport and Formby. This is a healthcare equipment role in partnership with the NHS to supply equipment and aids to support people in their day-to-day life. The position is full-time with hours 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Based at: Wallasey Service Centre CH44 7HX. The hourly rate is GBP 13.00 per hour and a full UK driving licence is required.

As you progress, you will complete initial training in the workshop reconditioning wheelchair equipment to gain essential product knowledge. After training, you will work in the field delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing wheelchairs, with the aim of first-time fixes whenever possible.
Responsibilities
* Delivering and collecting wheelchairs to and from service users’ homes and NHS departments, following the Company Infection Control Policy.
* Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field to achieve a first-time fix where possible.
* Read and complete all job paperwork with information on parts used and actions taken to enable accurate database updates.
* Use PPE as instructed and maintain a tidy vehicle and stock of necessary parts daily.
* Undertake out-of-hours responsibility when rostered (once fully trained).
* Observe regulations covering driving and use of the Company vehicle and comply with Health and Safety at Work Act requirements.
* Maintain professional customer service, wear a uniform and identification badge, and keep the uniform clean and laundered.
* Prioritise and organise workload, consulting the Line Manager as appropriate.
* Maintain and safely store all tools and equipment provided by the Company (as outlined in the handbook).
* Undertake training offered to maintain role-related skills.
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence
* Successful enhanced DBS check
* General workshop knowledge
* Basic electrical knowledge including 12v/24v DC systems
* Able to move and handle loads safely
* Experience of face-to-face customer contact
* Previous delivery driver experience
* Awareness and understanding of people with disabilities
* Flexible approach to changing working conditions
* Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries
* Ability to use a mobile phone to relay photographs
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to relay clear instructions to clients
* Awareness of handheld scanners
Physical Demands
* Moving and handling of equipment and accessories following handling guidelines
* Standing at a bench to work
* Kneeling/crouching
* Working in confined spaces (e.g., installing equipment in small toilet areas or bathrooms)
