Randstad Education is looking for a dedicated and charismatic Science Teacher to join a leading Alternative Provision in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting, supporting students who require a bespoke approach to learning.
The Role
In this environment, "Science" is more than just a curriculum, it's a way to engage students with the world around them. You will be responsible for:
* Delivering engaging Science lessons to small groups of students (KS3/KS4).
* Managing complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
* Adapting traditional practicals to ensure safety and engagement in an SEN setting.
* Building strong, trusting relationships with students who have faced barriers to education.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
* UK Teaching Experience: A proven track record of teaching within the UK education system is essential.
* Strong SEN Background: Extensive experience working with SEMH, ASD, or ADHD within a PRU or specialised SEN environment.
* QTS/QTLS: Full teaching qualification with a specialisation in Science.
* Resilience: A "can-do" attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
