Overview
The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra (OPO), one of the UK’s leading orchestras, seeks a highly motivated Communications Officer (CO) to play a key role in the Orchestra’s marketing and philanthropy activities. The Orchestra performs regularly in Oxford and London and has an expanding touring programme overseas.
Responsibilities
* Manage a varied workload providing support in print marketing, proposal writing and impact reporting to assist the work of the Marketing and Philanthropy teams.
* Report to the Chief Operating Officer and the Philanthropy Manager and work closely with the Marketing & Digital Coordinator to help storytelling for stakeholders: principally Board, audiences, donors and communities.
* Write persuasive content for fundraising, including bespoke proposals and impact reports for individuals and trusts and foundations, in collaboration with the Philanthropy Manager.
* Develop a suite of storytelling materials and content with the Marketing team for use by the whole team.
* Assist in the production of print materials such as season brochures and concert and festival programmes.
* Provide support in preparing papers and minute-taking at Board and committee meetings.
* Develop creative and effective engagement to deepen awareness and appreciation of OPO’s music, outreach programmes, growing audiences and donors.
* Maintain a high level of knowledge about music and the arts and demonstrate passion for OPO’s work, vision and mission.
Requirements / Qualifications
* A permanent, full-time role; based in London with occasional travel to Oxford; candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
* Experience in communications, fundraising, marketing or related fields is desirable.
* Ability to write persuasive content for fundraising and impact reporting; experience with proposal writing is a plus.
* Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders.
