Job Description: Your impact We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of the UK Integrated Operational Support (IOS) Team as a Business Manager, within the Leonardo Helicopters division. In this key role, you will lead a small team of planning professionals within the Integrated Merlin Operational Support (IMOS) to provide governance across IMOS planning activities, design and maintain planning schedules and report financial performance. This position requires strong business accumen, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams to ensure the successful delivery of the business management functions. For the awareness of internal applicants: this is a JFF level 7 position. What you will do as an IMOS Business Manager: Provide the governance of all planning activities across IMOS. Direct management of the Planning teams within the IMOS SMO and indirectly supporting the PMO to meet the needs of the company and contracts. Defining and driving the execution of company processes and procedures that also meet contractual and legal requirements. Design and maintain the project schedule in accordance with the contract ensuring the integrity of data throughout the project life cycle, through direct liaison with all functions. Prepare required reports to provide support. Identify issues and work with Service Management Team and directly with functions to establish corrective actions. The management and execution of planning, scheduling and control of all budgetary requirements for IMOS ensuring contractual profitability is maximised where possible. To manage and report all levels of financial performance across the IMOS Programme and to coordinate and oversee Business and Project Management support activities. To maintain Data integrity within SAP to enable robust forecasting and scheduling as required by Finance and the Programme Management Team offering support/expertise to the functional areas as required. Working in line with CPR processes:- CPR 03.08 Works Authorisation Process, CPR 03.10 Programme Performance Management Baseline process, CPR 04.10 Programme Management – Manage Programme Execution Process and elements of CPR 05.10 Programme Management – Manage Programme Closure Process. Management of the Single Source Contracting Regulations (SSCR) process for IMOS. Preparing reports and the required Variance Analysis that is required to adhere to the legislation. What you’ll bring Qualified to Degree or equivalent level in both business management and a relevant technical discipline or a significant knowledge of aerospace, defence and related business areas, gained through at least 10 years direct experience. 5 years line management experience to be able to provide advice, guidance and support to team members to achieve departmental objectives. Strong team and motivational skills, providing support and career enhancement to the Business Management team. The ability to provide advice, guidance and support to team members to achieve departmental objectives for Risk Management. The ability to collect, collate, analyse and present complex information clearly and concisely in writing or verbally to audiences comprising of multi–disciplinary groups. Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, Prime Contractor, Suppliers/Subcontractors and Key Stakeholders within the Military Customer community at all levels. Have developed problem solving abilities and the ability to apply them in an operational environment. To represent Leonardo Helicopters in a positive manner and have the ability to interact with the UK MOD Customer and key stakeholder community on a daily basis. Knowledge of the Integrated Operational Support construct and associated support disciplines. Detailed knowledge of military aircraft operations, manufacturing and support processes. Experience of dealing with the relevant UK MOD Delivery Team organisations of the Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S). Commercial awareness including Supplier/Sub-Contract knowledge. Business acumen and commercial awareness to identify and develop profitable new business opportunities. Business management of programmes circa £150m.
