This is a unique opportunity to join West London Children’s Healthcare as Head of Nursing for Children and Young People, working across both Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.

As Head of Nursing, you will provide visible leadership, champion quality and safety, and empower our nursing teams to deliver outstanding care. Your influence will extend across strategic planning, service transformation, research and education, and you will play a key role in shaping a culture of excellence, innovation and compassion.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide professional and clinical leadership for nursing teams across West London Children’s Healthcare, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
2. Work with senior leaders to drive strategic and operational objectives, leading service transformation and integration across both Trusts.
3. Champion the nursing agenda for children and young people, acting as an expert advisor and visible role model for staff, patients, and families.
4. Oversee workforce planning, deployment and development, ensuring teams are supported, skilled and empowered to deliver excellent care.
5. Lead on quality, governance and safeguarding, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
6. Collaborate with partners, commissioners, and education and research colleagues to strengthen innovation, patient experience and outcomes.

7. Registered Nurse (Child)
8. Formal Management qualification or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience.
Desirable criteria
9. Master’s degree or working towards one.
Experience
Essential criteria
10. Extensive successful experience in a demanding Senior Nurse role or equivalent managerial role at a senior level within a complex organisation
11. Significant experience of HR management, including managing grievance and disciplinary hearings
12. Experience of working in an operational nursing senior capacity Demonstrable experience in working with external partners and meeting their needs in relation to quality initiatives
13. Clinical Audit and research.
