The General Ledger Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with a significant focus on General Ledger accounting. This position is responsible for supporting the Financial Accounting Manager in activities such as month-end and quarter-end closes, Fixed Assets, Account Reconciliations, and Audits. The role involves recording and processing a wide range of financial transactions, playing a crucial part in financial reporting, and liaising with various departments and individuals across the DO & CO family.
Responsibilities
1. Build and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments to ensure the provision of positive and professional service.
2. Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure data accuracy.
3. Exceed targets and expectations while maintaining team cohesion and the culture of DO & CO.
4. Maintain good relationships with all DO & CO family members, partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
5. Support the Financial Accounting Manager with daily tasks as required.
6. Maintain accurate record keeping for audit trails and reporting, contributing to month-end closure activities.
7. Update and manage the fixed assets database and intercompany recharge processes.
8. Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in compliance with regional and international standards.
9. Monitor VAT transactions to ensure accurate reporting.
10. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
11. Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
12. Manage and oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
13. Perform reconciliations and account analyses to ensure data integrity.
14. Assist the team with ad hoc requests as needed.
