An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 44, an acute care unit, for a Health Care Support Worker.
Position Overview
Ward 44 is a 30‑bed combined Gastroenterology and Colorectal surgical unit. The successful applicant will join a well‑motivated, dynamic multi‑disciplinary team committed to high‑quality patient care and teamwork that benefits patients and enhances their journey.
Key Responsibilities
You will work varied shift patterns over seven days and must meet the physical demands, including patient manual handling.
You will demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, uphold patient safety and confidentiality, and participate in required training.
Recent acute inpatient experience is required.
Qualifications & Skills
Applicants must have an active interest in an acute hospital setting, be able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and be strong team players with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment
The unit offers a full range of gastroenterology and colorectal services, including bowel surgery, gastrointestinal disorders, liver diseases, and specialist management for inflammatory bowel disease. Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, and ERCP are available as part of the network cancer services.
