About the Role: We are seeking an ambitious and motivated individual to join as a Team Lead in our 2-bed residential children’s home. You will support management and lead a team of Residential Care Workers working with up to 2 young people aged 6-12 years. Your role involves building positive relationships, assessing strengths, overcoming challenges, and working within a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, therapeutic environment where young people feel secure and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Deputy and Registered Managers in delivering high standards of care in line with regulations.
2. Collaborate with children’s services, health agencies, and community resources to ensure effective support for young people.
3. Manage complex cases and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care and safety.
4. Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures according to policies.
5. Organize young people's diaries, appointments, and support educational and health needs.
6. Facilitate key working sessions, report progress, and communicate with the management team.
7. Identify and report health and safety concerns, maintaining logs.
8. Create and share monthly progress reports with relevant authorities.
9. Participate in team meetings, providing feedback and insights from key working sessions.
10. Coordinate daily tasks such as activities, meal planning, and outings, escalating to on-call support when necessary.
11. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and report any discrepancies.
12. Attend meetings such as LAC reviews and care planning sessions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualities:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Leadership and team motivation skills.
* Experience working with children displaying behaviours of concern, trauma, or neurodivergence.
* Knowledge of regulatory standards and experience working with regulatory bodies.
* Ability to work on a rotational on-call system.
* Demonstrate organizational values and high standards of practice.
* Driving license and enhanced Access NI clearance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Social Work or related field (desirable).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working with trauma-affected young people.
* At least 1 year of team leadership experience within children’s services.
Terms and Conditions:
* Salary: £34,000 per annum.
* Full-time (38 hours/week), including evenings and weekends.
* 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.
* Six-month probation period.
* Potential for a waiting list for similar future vacancies.
