Hays NI are recruiting on behalf of a civils and construction contractor specialising inmercial, civil engineering, infrastructure, education, localernment and restoration projects. Located in Co. Antrim, you will find a convenientmute just off the A6 from wherever you call home. With a variety of exciting projects throughout Northern Ireland, you will find that no two projects are the exact same. With over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, you will find a team of experienced professionals to work alongside to deliver important local projects which make up the fabric of local towns and cities.
Your new role
You’ll be working alongside teams to deliver important projects valued up to £10 million in themercial, manufacturing, healthcare and retail sectors. Reporting to the operations manager, you will be expected to oversee projects from inception topletion. Using a mix of people management andmunication skills, you will utilise your experience and industry knowledge to ensure the projects you’re a part of arepleted on time, on budget and to the highest standard. You will connect with all levels of staff, from site workers to directors, with a professional and even-handed approach. You will be able to see problems as they arise and propose solutions alongside other industry professionals to meet deadlines and budget. You will be expected to meet with, negotiate with and manage the disputes of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to create and maintain an efficient, professional and timely work environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need to be willing to travel daily to the head office outside as well as sites throughout the region. You will also need:
A minimum of 6 GCSEs (or equivalent NVQ trade qualification).An HND/HNC/ Degree in construction management or demonstrable current experience as a contract manager.
A recognised health and safety qualification (desirable)
