Overview
As the Deputy Manager, you are part of the management team alongside the Home Manager and the Assistant Deputy Manager. The role comprises providing care and supervision in the home along with assigned supernumerary time to complete management tasks. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of being hands on with care while ensuring that the shift is well led and supporting with both day and night handovers.
You should care for residents as you would your own family, addressing their physical, psychological and social needs. This includes assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and meals, as well as supporting the management functions of supervision, observations, rota planning, medication audits and end-of-month medication checks.
This is an ideal role for a senior ready to progress to a Deputy Manager in a company that develops from within and supports its internal staff. We are part of a family-run business within the Wood Care Group, and our employees are important to us.

About You

* Good communication skills to communicate with residents, families and the management team.
* Previous experience working in a care home is desirable but not essential.
* A committed and organised approach.
* Flexible to work shifts (including weekends).
* NVQ level 3 as a minimum (or working towards).
* Available to work on-call within the management team.

Other Duties
* Attend staff meetings.
* Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs and demands of the home; participate in appropriate training and encourage and support staff development and training.
* Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are understood and skills developed to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect; ensure safeguarding and whistleblowing policies are adhered to at all times.
* Provide evidence of any untaken training.
* Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation; work in a safe environment.
* Complete all training as determined by the home.
