Principal Electrical Engineer\n\n📍 Manchester City Centre\n 💼 Building Services Design | Electrical Engineering | Revit | Project Delivery | Management\n 💰 £55,000 - £62,000 + Benefits\n 🕒 Full Time | Permanent | 36.25 Hours | Agile Working\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nA leading UK wide MEP consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer (or an experienced Senior Engineer ready to step up) for their new Manchester office, right in the heart of the city centre.\n\nThis is a rare opportunity to help establish and lead a new regional team - shaping its direction, recruiting talent, and playing a central role in delivering major residential, hotel, education, and healthcare projects across the UK from their Spinningfields office.\n\nIf you're a technically strong Principal Electrical Engineer, passionate about leadership, delivery, and sustainable building design - this role offers autonomy, growth, and a chance to have real impact within a very established brand.\n\nThe Role\n\nLead the electrical design and delivery of multi-sector building services projects.\nAct as project leader on selected schemes, attend key client meetings, and provide technical presentations.\nMentor and develop junior engineers as the team grows.\nBe a key client contact, developing long-term relationships and repeat business.\nPlay an integral role in growing a high-performance office environment in Manchester.\nWork closely with colleagues in other offices to maintain consistent quality and delivery.\nUtilise design software including Revit, Amtech, Relux/DIALux, and the Microsoft Suite. \n\nKey Requirements\n\nDegree-qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or HND/HNC with equivalent experience).\nChartered or working towards professional status (e.g. CIBSE/IET).\nProficient in Revit, Amtech, and lighting design software.\nExperienced in leading projects from conception through to completion.\nA natural leader with strong client-facing skills and a passion for mentoring.\nKnowledgeable in HTMs, British/European Standards, HV/LV systems, and renewable tech.\nFamiliar with BREEAM and low-carbon/sustainable design practices.\nA strong communicator and collaborator who thrives in a team environment.
