Sometimes people find themselves going through tough times. Maybe they’ve had a bereavement, or they’ve lost a job, or trauma from their past is making it hard to be who they want to be. Sometimes people need help to keep their housing, and circumstances are so overwhelming they feel they can’t do it alone. In this role, you won’t be there to fix people. You won’t be there to do everything for them. You won’t be a hero. You’ll be there to listen, to help people achieve the goals they choose. We want to hear from anyone and everyone. Whatever your background, your experience, or your knowledge. We want people who have fire in their belly for change. The work itself will take place around our unique crisis house in Newport, one of the only two examples in Wales, the Crisis houses are based in Newport and Cardiff and are a therapeutic alternative to hospital for people experiencing a crisis in their mental health. We offer a safe and supportive environment that is responsive to people’s needs and alleviates distress. They provide a space for individuals to work alongside staff members to determine what support they need, allows the opportunity to connect, take time out and be heard. You’ll be working alongside people to achieve their goals, around the crisis houses and in the communities they reside. The support will be expected to be in line with Platfform’s values. Driving and use of own vehicle is a mandatory requirement for this role.
