The Opportunity We’re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients innovative team. In this role, you’ll work on mechanical systems and control solutions, designing machinery and sheet metal components. You’ll gain hands-on experience, supporting engineering projects from concept through to full documentation and production. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, and an early finish at 12:30 pm on Fridays. What You’ll Be Doing * Model and refine mechanical components using Autodesk Inventor and other engineering software. * Draft and revise engineering drawings to meet client specifications and internal standards. * Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs) and basic design documentation. * Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to ensure designs are practical and production ready. * Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other team members to support ongoing projects. * Assist with sub-contractor and vendor communications related to technical information and documentation. * Help improve engineering processes and contribute to departmental initiatives. * Record and monitor your project hours and ensure deadlines are met. What You’ll Need Must-Haves: * Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (graduates are welcome to apply). * Strong mechanical design skills, ideally with machinery or sheet metal design experience. * Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor * Experience creating BOMs and applying DFM principles. * Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team. * Eligibility to work in the UK; personal vehicle preferred due to site location.
