Store Space Performance Planner – Overview
We are seeking a commercially focused, analytically and visually strong individual who can turn insight into action and deliver store space optimisation. In this role you will shape how our stores bring the Fashion, Home and Beauty space and transformation strategy to life, leading the application, allocation and optimisation of space across multiple regions through regular store visits, robust grading decisions and macro space changes.
Responsibilities
* Drive FHB space & grading across the division, ensuring space is used efficiently, aligns with strategy and meets customer needs to maximize sales, productivity and ROI.
* Lead commercial space optimisation across the estate by reviewing each store annually, using Red/Amber/Green methodology to assess complexity, identify opportunities, and build commercially grounded recommendations for senior stakeholders. Produce PIRs to embed learnings into future proposals.
* Develop and present store block plans, create macro space block plans illustrating commercial benefits, model outcomes and compile compelling summaries. Chair divisional store space surgeries with regional managers, field VM and space management.
* Translate strategy into practical application with the Store Performance Manager and BU Space Planning teams, using data, modelling tools and productivity levers to support decision‑making and recommend changes.
* Act as the regional space partner, serving as primary point of contact for regional managers on all FHB space topics, building relationships, securing alignment, and leading regular visits to stores with senior stakeholders to provide expert guidance on operational realities.
Qualifications
* Strong ability to initiate, build, and sustain relationships and influence at all levels across the support centre and stores.
* Expert understanding of the space planning and merchandising critical path, process flows, competencies and related activities, including relevant systems.
* Knowledge of the retailing environment, including product delivery, space execution and operational processes.
* Experience with business IT systems and space planning interdependencies.
* Proficiency in relevant FH&B, space & retail reporting, and merchandising systems such as Blue Yonder floor planning, RP, MP, GMOR, PowerBI.
