VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a Public Sector employer who are actively seeking a Housing Officer to join their team.
This is an urgent requirement offering an immediate start date.

Responsibilities:
3. Resolve complaints and disputes between tenants.
4. Ensure health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and contingency planning.
5. Liaise with property services to address maintenance issues.
6. Manage tenancy breaches and attend evictions.
7. Assess housing transfers and allocate void properties.
8. Manage property viewings, sign-ups, handovers, and void turnaround.
9. Visit new tenants and handle property abandonments.
10. Monitor housing support services and partner compliance.
11. Monitor rent payments and take recovery action.
12. Liaise with benefits agencies and refer tenants for debt advice.
13. Follow legal procedures and attend court as needed.
14. Manage housing budgets and service charge accounts.
15. Lead staff recruitment, reviews, and welfare visits.
16. Attend meetings, forums, events, and training as required.
17. Ensure compliance with policies on equality, safety, and customer service.
18. Perform any other reasonable duties required by the organisation.
Essential Criteria:
19. Degree in any discipline and 2 years' relevant housing/tenancy management experience with a social landlord or local authority OR 3 years' experience as a Housing Officer.
20. Working knowledge of the Northern Ireland Housing Selection Scheme.
21. Understanding of tenancy management processes, including transfers and tenancy assignments.
22. Knowledge of property allocation procedures.
23. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
24. Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to colleagues, tenants, and external partners.
25. Full UK driving licence.
26. Access to a vehicle for daily business use.
Desirable Criteria:
27. Experience using a Housing Management System (HMS) or similar
28. At least 1 year of staff/team management experience (within last 5 years)
