As Deputy Head of Curriculum for Business, Management, Floristry, Horticulture, Hospitality & Catering, and Leisure & Tourism, you'll support the Head in managing staff, resources, and curriculum development. You'll track and inspire both staff and students to maintain high standards and improve outcomes, alongside an annual teaching commitment.
The role sits within one of three linked departments that cover the above curriculum areas alongside ESOL, English and maths. This breadth of provision and close working relationship between the leaders in the departments allows for sustained support from the wider leadership team and Head of Curriculum.
What’s involved?
As a key contributor to shaping and implementing the Group’s curriculum strategy, you’ll work closely with the Head of Curriculum on everything from development and delivery to assessment driving the quality within the department. You'll also lead the creation and introduction of dynamic provision and strategies that mirror current industry trends, foster both curriculum advancement and excellence in teaching and learning. Beyond this, you'll oversee resource allocation, staffing, and facility management to ensure the curriculum is delivered smoothly and successfully.
Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate will possess:
* GCSE English and Mathematics at grades A*-C/9-4 or an equivalent qualification
* A relevant degree or a professional qualification of comparable level
* A PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Demonstrated success in teaching roles
* Management experience within Further Education (FE)
* Working knowledge of the key curriculum areas
