The University of Reading seeks to appoint a Student Immigration Compliance Manager within the Student Experience and Education Directorate.
The successful candidate will lead the Student Immigration Compliance team, part of the International Student Advisory team, which supports international students with visa and immigration advice, as well as broader International Student Experience initiatives. The role involves supporting students to maximize their time in the UK and providing guidance to university colleagues to support international students.
The Student Immigration Compliance Manager plays a vital role in the university’s success in recruiting and retaining international students through effective compliance processes.
You Will Have
* In-depth knowledge of UKVI Student Sponsor regulations and their impact on university operations and compliance.
* Excellent understanding of Student visa policies, Immigration Rules, and Student Sponsor Guidance, including operational implications.
* A collaborative approach to teamwork and goal achievement.
* Ability to analyze complex immigration policies to develop clear policies and procedures.
* Strong problem-solving skills to identify compliance issues and develop solutions.

Hybrid working arrangements: Located at our Green Flag in Reading, our friendly open-plan office supports hybrid working after initial training. New staff are expected to be on campus full-time for at least six weeks. Subsequently, staff may work from home up to two days a week, depending on business needs.
Annual leave: 26 days plus 6 public holidays and additional closure days around Christmas and Easter.
Pension and Pay: Staff can join the USS pension scheme, funded by contributions from both employee and university. Pay scale points within Grade 6 range from £34,980 to £44,263, with starting salary at the lowest point, with potential for annual progression based on performance.
