Teaching Assistant (TA) – Full Time & Part Time

Primary schools across Southampton are recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) to join their teams on a full-time and part-time basis from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced Teaching Assistants and individuals looking to start a career in education. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing within a primary school setting.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 support and work with small groups of pupils
* Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons
* Assist children with additional needs, including SEN
* Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
* Monitor pupil progress and report back to teaching staff
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
* A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine interest in education and child development
