Overview
This post sits within Connect to Community (C2C) and combines professional leadership and line management with hands‑on Occupational Therapy practice. The successful candidate will actively undertake OT work, including assessment, intervention and complex decision‑making, alongside supporting and developing staff within the team.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional OT leadership within a multidisciplinary team.
* Deliver direct Occupational Therapy practice, including complex assessments and interventions.
* Offer reflective supervision and line management, particularly for OT staff.
* Support high‑quality, timely decision‑making at the front door of Adult Social Care.
* Deputise for the Team Manager when required.
* Lead and model high‑quality OT practice within C2C, ensuring that standards are consistently upheld.
* Contribute to safeguarding decision‑making, including Section 42 triage and effective risk management.
* Promote reflective, evidence‑informed and strengths‑based practice across the service.
* Work collaboratively with health, housing, reablement and voluntary sector partners to deliver coordinated and effective support.
About the Service
C2C is the first point of response for adults seeking further support after initial triage by the Information and Advice Service. It operates through a multi‑disciplinary, strengths‑based model, bringing together colleagues from different disciplines to deliver a responsive, joined‑up service that reduces unnecessary handovers and ensures people receive the right support at the right time. The service includes strengths‑based conversations, short‑term interventions, OT assessments and support, safeguarding triage and risk management, Mental Capacity Act work, urgent support planning, and access to reablement, technology‑enabled care, housing advice and wider community resources.
Qualifications
* Hold a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Have substantial post‑qualification experience in adult social care or community settings.
* Be confident undertaking complex OT practice, including risk, MCA and safeguarding work.
* Have experience of providing professional supervision and contributing to practice development.
* Be able to balance operational leadership with direct clinical OT work.
* Be able to work autonomously and under pressure.
* Have a valid driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel across a wide geographical area (Surrey).
Compensation & Benefits
The role has a starting salary of £54,630 per annum, based on a 36‑hour working week. This is a full‑time position but part‑time applications are also welcomed.
