About Our Client

Our client is a top UK accountancy firm with a strong national presence and international reach through a global network. They are looking for a Senior Payroll Manager to join them initially on a 1 year FTC contract.

Job Description

3. Manage a portfolio of complex, high-profile client payrolls end-to-end
4. Act as a subject matter expert on UK payroll legislation and Auto Enrolment
5. Provide practical, commercial payroll solutions to clients
6. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team
7. Allocate resources effectively, balancing client delivery and team development
8. Oversee payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across all accounts
9. Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships
10. Identify risks and resolve complex payroll challenges proactively
11. Contribute to departmental strategy, planning, and continuous improvement
12. Analyse and forecast resourcing requirements to support business demand

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Payroll Manager should have:

13. Ideally immediately available or have a short notice period
14. Experinece in a payroll manager role with in an accountancy practise
15. Proven experience managing end-to-end payrolls in a complex environment
16. Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and Auto Enrolment
17. CIPP qualified (or equivalent)
18. Confident leading, developing, and motivating payroll teams
19. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
20. Strong client-facing skills with a commercial mindset
21. Solutions-focused with excellent problem-solving ability
22. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
23. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
24. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
