Fabric Technician / Handyperson
LOCATION:

SHIFT PATTERN:
Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm & 10am-7pm
SALARY:
£35 - £39k per annum
Role Overview And Purpose
This role is a semi-skilled position providing fabric and low-level building services support to the site engineering team. Responsibilities include managing the reactive help desk, monitoring incoming work, and completing tasks such as escorting subcontractors, minor PPM works, routine maintenance, painting, decorating, and small ground maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out routine fabric maintenance across the facility to meet and exceed expectations and SLAs.
2. Complete all reactive tasks logged to meet and exceed expectations and SLAs, as directed by management and in line with Gulfstream requirements.
3. Assist with office moves and client-required changes.
4. Perform painting, decorating, and DIY tasks to maintain an attractive environment.
5. Support general grounds maintenance activities as directed.
6. Manage stock loading/unloading and ensure safe storage of equipment and spares.
7. Replace lamps and clean lighting diffusers following safety protocols and LOTO procedures.
8. Complete relevant paperwork for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works promptly.
9. Assist site engineers with water hygiene activities, maintaining the Water Management System logbook (training provided if needed).
10. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, including wearing PPE and adhering to policies.
11. Keep storage areas tidy and compliant with safety standards.
12. Ensure all works comply with H&S requirements and cause no disruption to the client premises.
13. Maintain cleanliness and order in working areas at all times.
14. Participate in out-of-hours activities as needed.
15. Conduct routine plant checks and other tasks as directed.
16. Contribute to the upkeep of the CAFM system (MAXIMO).
17. Coordinate annual holidays in advance.
Required Skills And Experience
1. Formal fabric maintenance training or demonstrable experience.
2. Building maintenance and health & safety training preferred.
3. Experience with health and safety obligations related to maintenance activities.
4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
5. Customer service-oriented attitude.
6. Calm under pressure, able to make sound decisions.
7. Physically capable of handling tools and components up to 20kg.
8. IT literate.
9. Respectful and polite in all interactions.

* Demonstrate last 5 years of work history.
* DBS check required.
* Airside pass application, with personal details verification.
* Gulfstream pass application upon successful completion of previous steps.
* No photography allowed on site or outside for social media/private use.
