P&L Recruitment are working in partnership with a highly reputable organisation based in South Lanarkshire to recruit an Assistant Accountant, on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the Accounts Department, ensuring accuracy throughout the Nominal Ledger. This is a great role for a Part Qualified or Assistant Accountant, looking to take the next step in their career.
The main duties:
* Preparation of monthly accounts
* Reconcile nominal ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Managing the processing of invoices
* Reconcile monthly and quarterly VAT Returns
* Prepare & Post Journals to ensure accurate reporting
* Prepayments and accruals
* Update Fixed Asset Register
* Assist Finance Department with Budgeting and Forecast activities
* Supervise and review workload of transactional staff
The main requirements:
* Experience of month end processes
* Highly analytical with strong problem solving skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficient in Excel
* High levels of attention to detail
* Able to work on own initiative
* Strong work ethic
