The Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) are the Army’s professional logisticians keeping the Field Army marching, its helicopters, vessels, and vehicles moving, and its tanks and guns firing. The RLC enables the Army to deploy, supplying it with everything it needs, wherever it operates, throughout the world. The role As an RLC Driver, you will learn to drive multiple vehicle types from Land Rovers to HGVs with integrated pallet loading systems. Your loading and driving skills will be tested off road and in high pressure exercise scenarios to ensure you are ready to transport essential supplies which keep the Army moving forward, whatever the weather or terrain. Key Responsibilities Remain competent in all basic soldiering skills so that you are ready to support the Army home and abroad as a Driver. You will drive a range of Army HGVs and understand the Tactics, Techniques and Procedures required to ensure critical supplies reach their destination, home or abroad, whatever the terrain or threat. As part of the Transport Team within an RLC Regiment you will carry out regular vehicle maintenance to ensure that the fleet stays on the road and ready for operations. Gain special licences so that essential fuel, ammunition and other hazardous materials can be moved quickly and safely to where they are needed most. Keep on top of your professional development and transferable skills by working towards an apprenticeship in Driving Goods Vehicles About You Hold a valid UK Driving License with B, C, and CE entitlements. Have a sense of adventure with a willingness to travel and learn new skills. The ability to work within diverse teams and bring a positive mindset to high pressure situations. Salary & benefits Salary: £26,334- £32,647 per year. Pension: Automatic enrolment in the non-contributory Armed Forces Pension Scheme 2015 (opt out available) Leave: 30 days’ annual leave plus eight UK bank holidays.
