Bus/PSV Mechanic/Electrician
* Based at our Guildford depot, located at Peasmarsh
* Pay rate of circa £45k per annum
* 40hrs per week, rolling shifts including some weekends.
Looking for a hands‑on mechanical role where your skills keep the community moving?
We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Bus/PSV Mechanic/Electrician to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Guildford. Whether you come from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your chance to work on a modern and varied fleet, including electric vehicles, while helping to train the next generation of engineers.
What you’ll be doing:
* Carry out electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on PSV vehicles
* Maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting, wiring, batteries, and control systems
* Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
* Maintain and repair our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
* Complete job cards, maintenance records, and compliance documentation accurately
* Assist in breakdown response and on‑road repairs when required
* Collaborate with the wider engineering team to meet fleet availability targets
* Support apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience
What we’re looking for:
* A safety‑first attitude and strong attention to detail
* A team player with good communication skills
* Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable)
* Proven experience as an electrician, ideally within PSV, HGV, or automotive environments
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
* Knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systems
* Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends
* Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
