Job Title: Commercial Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) - Business Partnering & Analysis
Location: Bolton (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
This role involves providing high-quality financial planning, analysis, and reporting to finance leadership and operational teams to enhance business performance, foster understanding, and support growth. You will act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to senior management, delivering strategic financial insights to drive growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Performance:
* Lead month-end reporting and analysis for operational leaders, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
* Analyze monthly results prepared by the accounting team, highlighting key variances.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and analyze site financial performance, building rapport and accountability for budget targets.
* Ensure financial KPIs are accurately reported, with trends highlighted for decision-making.
* Communicate performance effectively, challenging budget holders and fostering accountability.
* Manage the month-end query tracker, ensuring prompt responses to site leaders.
* Review and improve reporting processes and analysis within FP&A and the wider Finance team.
* Work with the Business Intelligence team to create and distribute financial results and scorecards through systems and automation.
Budget and Forecast:
* Lead the budgeting process for your area, ensuring alignment with strategy and deadlines.
* Support other Finance Business Partners in budgeting activities across the Group.
* Maintain consistent financial models for budgeting and forecasting, including relevant KPIs.
* Assist in implementing system-driven automation for reporting, budgeting, and modeling tools.
Stakeholder Management:
* Build strong relationships with senior leaders and operational teams.
* Serve as the main contact for finance queries.
* Provide timely reports and scorecards, and offer financial training to senior leaders as needed.
* Promote a positive, collaborative team environment.
* Participate in performance reviews and adhere to company policies and health and safety regulations.
* Support safeguarding policies and undertake other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
* Studying towards or completed a relevant accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA, etc.)
* A relevant degree or AAT qualification
* Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and presentation
* Proven ability to influence financial outcomes and work with operational managers
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to present complex data visually for senior stakeholders
* Relevant management accounting experience
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
* Experience with Access Dimensions and Power BI is advantageous but not essential
