Provide compassionate support and assistance to clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety. Shifts available: day and night on a rolling rota.
Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate support and assistance to clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal care.
* Monitor and document clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Maintain clear communication with clients and their families, fostering a supportive environment.
* Note: We cannot provide sponsorship for this role; we are only looking for support workers with the right to work in the UK.
* Right to work without sponsorship in the next 12 months; pay rate £12.21 per hour, overtime +£1 per hour.
What We Are Looking For / Qualifications
* Experience: at least 6 months as a healthcare assistant or support worker in a care home or supported living location.
* Positive, with a can-do attitude; caring and empathetic; passionate about enhancing other people's lives.
* Willing to attend training as needed to support you in your role.
* Able to work flexible shifts.
* It is essential to have demonstrable support worker experience with service users who have been homeless and/or have complex needs including mental health, substance misuse and domestic abuse.
* You must be able to assess service users' needs to plan and deliver effective and engaging support.
* Strong organisational and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to manage risk and ensure that procedures are followed; risk is managed appropriately.
* Ability to support service users in volunteering and community work involving group activities.
* Flexible to work weekends on a rota basis; access to a vehicle is desirable; ability to drive is desirable for occasional travel to appointments.
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues; experience in care homes is advantageous.
