We’re looking for a highly experienced OKTA Lead to take end-to-end ownership of a global enterprise identity platform. This is a critical, hands-on role combining technical leadership, operational control, and strategic input across a 24x7 environment.
You’ll act as the senior escalation point and SME, ensuring the stability, security and scalability of business-critical authentication services across a complex global estate.
The Role
This is not a passive oversight role — you’ll be:
* Leading from the front as the L3 SME for OKTA
* Owning platform performance, security and governance
* Driving incident response, operational excellence and continuous improvement
* Acting as a trusted advisor to senior IT and Security leadership
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Architecture
* Own and govern the global OKTA platform, including workflows, standards and roadmap
* Define authentication policies, MFA controls and identity security design
* Ensure platform scalability, resilience and alignment with enterprise security strategy
* Lead OKTA app integrations, SSO, lifecycle management and API access
Operations & Service Leadership (24x7)
* Accountable for 24x7 platform availability and SLA performance
* Act as final escalation point for critical authentication and access issues
* Lead P1/P2 incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation
* Define and maintain on-call, escalation and support models
Hands-On OKTA Delivery (L3)
* Manage day-to-day OKTA operations:
* Policy management, group updates and rule configuration
* Workflow creation and optimisation
* AD agent deployment, patching and health monitoring
* Network zones and IP whitelisting
* Handle BAU incidents and service requests end-to-end
* Oversee upgrades, migrations and post-implementation hypercare
Security, Risk & Compliance
* Ensure OKTA platform meets security, audit and regulatory requirements
* Partner with SOC, GRC and Audit teams on risk and compliance activities
* Own remediation of audit findings and security gaps
* Manage admin access governance, service accounts and certification processes
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
* Provide technical leadership across global IAM teams
* Mentor senior engineers and drive knowledge sharing
* Act as a key interface between technical teams and senior stakeholders
* Influence identity strategy and platform direction
What We’re Looking For
Essential
* 12–15+ years in IAM / Security / Systems Administration
* Strong hands-on OKTA experience (Admin + Workflows)
* Proven experience supporting enterprise IAM platforms in 24x7 environments
* Deep understanding of:
* Authentication, SSO, MFA and identity federation
* OKTA integrations, workflows and lifecycle management
* Strong incident management and operational delivery experience
Desirable
* Experience in large, global enterprise environments
* Exposure to Zero Trust / modern identity security frameworks
* Security certifications (CISSP, CISM etc.)
Certifications
* OKTA Certified (Admin / Consultant / Workflows) – essential

* Fully remote (UK-based)
* 37–40 hours per week
* 24x7 support model (on-call rotation)
