Job Purpose
The Inclusion Lead will provide leadership, support and direction for Inclusion, ensuring pupil achievement and progression through effective inclusion for pupils. The role is to ensure that our school actively promotes inclusive practice and fully supports children who have special educational needs and disabilities, as well as other vulnerable groups in school like pupil premium, EAL and LAC. The inclusion lead will have responsibility for implementing the school’s inclusion/SEND policy, under direction of the Head Teacher and Governing Body. They will lead the strategic development of the school’s SEND provision and will have oversight of the day‑to‑day operation of that policy, with the aim of raising vulnerable groups’ achievement.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to have a teaching responsibility but will equally have strategic management time. This will be discussed at interview.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status with 5 years or more teaching experience.
* At least 3 years leadership / management experience in a school.
* The National Award for SEN Co‑ordination or be working towards (or willing to commence).
* Experience of working with children with Special Needs.
* Skillful in working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs – SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL.
* Hold a relevant Teaching qualification and have experience in management and leadership.
* Passionate about young children and their learning.
* Outstanding practitioner with high expectations.
* Good management and organisational skills and experience of leading/managing other staff.
* Good understanding of the need for strategies to motivate and inspire all children to make good progress, particularly those in vulnerable groups.
* Effective communicator and able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
* Team player who is also able to work independently.
