NHS Lothian is seeking a full time Head of Resilience (Band 8b) to lead emergency preparedness and business continuity planning across the full spectrum of acute, primary and community care. The post-holder will lead a small team of specialists focused on training, exercising, assurance and advisory processes to enable NHS Lothian to meet its obligations as a Category 1 responder.
We want a highly motivated individual with strong management and communication skills, in-depth knowledge of the NHS and resilience to take up this exciting opportunity. We are looking for someone with significant experience of providing that expert resource role advising on all aspects of civil contingencies to Chief Executives and their Senior Management Teams.
NHS Lothian is a £1.6bn organisation and covers the City of Edinburgh, West Lothian, East Lothian and Midlothian local authorities and serves a population of 800,000. Aside from the usual resilience challenges, Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland, its seat of government and has the regional trauma hospital for the south east of Scotland. The Resilience Team is hosted in the Public Health Directorate and line management will be with the Director of Public Health.
