Job Overview
We are on the brink of a very exciting time in NHS Highland at Fort William and are looking for a committed and innovative surgeon to join us on this journey. We are in the process of designing and building a new in‑patient facility in Fort William to replace our current 32‑bedded hospital, and you could help develop this unit into a hospital for the future.
Responsibilities
* Work flexibly as part of an integrated team to provide general surgical care in a 32‑bedded in‑patient facility.
* Deliver a broad range of general surgical procedures and manage acute admissions.
* Develop and maintain special interests, working within a network of specialists across the Highlands.
* Teach and support specialist nurses, undergraduate students and junior doctors.
* Play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the hospital.
Qualifications
* Broad general surgical experience and competence.
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and as part of an integrated team.
* Licensed to practice on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT in General Medicine at the time of interview.
