**Job Location:** : Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications**We have a fantastic opportunity for Paralegals to join our small claims team in Cardiff.**Sedgwick Legal Services (SLS) advises and handles disputes for major insurers, Lloyds syndicates, large corporates, utilities, and local authorities. This role focuses on property damage losses, including those caused by major fires, floods, building collapse, escape of water, and subsidence. Our Legal team leads from our Central Bristol Office, with colleagues in Cardiff and London. The role requires a hybrid working model with three days per week in our Bristol office.Main duties and responsibilities include updating and maintaining the case management system with diary dates as required by the case. You'll assist on claims for other fee earners in the team, carrying out preliminary investigations and evidence gathering, ensuring technical and expert evidence obtained by insurers and their agents is sufficient to prove causation, obtaining witness statements, and contacting relevant parties to obtain contractual and other relevant documentation. # **The skills you will have when you apply:****Professional Qualifications:** Preferably have a degree or previous relevant legal experience. **Expertise:** Knowledge of the litigation process is desirable. **Contract and Tort Knowledge:** Be interested in and have a good working knowledge of general contract and tortious principles. **Technical Knowledge:** Be interested in and willing to learn the technical aspects of construction and property claims investigations as required for the role. **Team Orientation:** Be team-orientated, with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team. **Commercial Perspective:** Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to claims settlement. **The skills that will be developed once working:** **Comprehensive Training:** You'll receive all the Sedgwick-specific training needed to excel in your role. # **What we’ll give you for this role:**Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications **Other benefits** Voluntary benefits – green car scheme, dental cover, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, welling and digital GP applications# **This isn't just a position, it's a pivotal role in shaping our industry**At Sedgwick, not only will you be working behind the scenes for some of the UK's most trusted insurance brands helping to resolve millions of claims every year, you'll also be an architect of tomorrow's insurance landscape with Sedgwick University.
