What You’ll Be Doing
Step into an exciting opportunity with our newly formed Mechanical Engineering team in Coventry! Your mission? To deliver essential ship services, crew life support capabilities, and cutting-edge equipment for both current and future generations of Nuclear Submarines. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the design and development of critical systems for the SSN AUKUS.
* Lead and develop various mechanical engineering systems, equipment, and components.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure equipment and component specifications meet challenging demands.
* Collaborate directly with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios and design considerations.
* Take charge of performing and reviewing engineering calculations and analyses to demonstrate system performance.
* Coordinate and influence a wide range of stakeholders to solve complex engineering problems and make informed decisions.
Your Skills and Experiences
Essential:
* Background in Mechanical Engineering, particularly in Rotating Machinery, Components, or Fluid Dynamics.
* Proven experience applying mechanical engineering principles across various products and stages of the product lifecycle.
* Strong prioritization skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
* A passion for problem-solving and tackling complex engineering challenges.
* Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
Desirable:
* Experience in leadership or mentoring roles.

The Platform Systems Team
As a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer in our Platform Systems team, you’ll be part of a brand new initiative at our Coventry site. Collaborate with passionate engineers to innovate the design of our submarines. You’ll also have the chance to mentor junior staff and enhance technical skillsets. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates across all Submarine roles.
