A critically acclaimed global design studio is seeking a Design Researcher to join their London office. You will closely work with the director to investigate emerging technologies and human behaviour, gaining insights on how these shifts may influence the future of architectural design. Job description: Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to conduct research, refine concepts and ensure project feasibility. Facilitate research by conducting user studies and interviews, creating surveys, gathering secondary research, analysing & organising user data, and archiving research efforts. Conduct or assist in user testing sessions and on-site observations, analyse feedback and iterate solutions based on findings. Conduct or assist in visioning workshops and critique sessions to support overall vision development. Investigate new topics, draw conclusions and apply critical thinking to generate innovative ideas for clients and internal design teams. Contribute to the development of the design research practice and integrate innovation practices across various sectors. Tackle design challenges with creative, user-centred solutions, using data-driven insights to develop innovative prototypes and proofs of concept that integrate architectural and interior design principles. Key skills: Must possess a degree in architecture and a PhD focused on design research, design and environmental analysis or human-centred design will be desirable Have experience in the built industry with familiarity in user experience research, design strategy and evidence-based design. Skilled in qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research with an understanding of how to apply appropriate methodologies based on the research context. Capable of recommending creative research approaches to identify needs and opportunity zones, effectively communicating design ideas and research findings to clients, team members and stakeholders.
